Our Gender Approach

It is a development approach or strategy that aims to correct or reduce social (education, health), economic (access to income, economic productivity, labor market, economic opportunities), political (decision-making) and cultural inequalities between women and men in order to achieve sustainable, equitable development that benefits everyone. The gender approach makes it possible to identify the injustices and discrimination that are tolerated or encouraged within a society. It compares the situation of men and women in order to identify the sources of inequality and correct them.

Discrimination between women and men

This refers to the differential treatment of one sex (male or female) compared with another in a given situation.

Equality / Equal opportunities

Equality is the principle which means that people (women and men) must be treated in the same way, with the same rights and the same duties (equal opportunities) and above all with the same dignity.

Gender equality in the workplace

This refers to equal treatment of women and men in terms of access to employment, training, mobility, promotion and equal pay.

A gender policy

A gender policy is a policy that compares the situation of women and men, identifies the sources of inequality between the sexes (male/female) and aims to reduce them.
